Hook-up your trailer to the Weigh Safe ball mount just as you would any other ball mount, and your trailer’s weight will push down on the hitch ball. Then, an internal hydraulic piston presses down on a reservoir of oil, which then sends a reading the the hitch’s built-in scale. The Weigh Safe gauge accuracy is an impressive 1.25% +/- (50lb +/-) over the full weight range of the scale.
